WHEN FIRST TOOTH GROWS, THE CARE BEGINS
The thrill of the first tooth! While parents welcome it with excitement, a period of great discovery begins for the children. They bite, chew on, gnaw at everything… This first love should be taken care of well. The period in which the first tooth grows raises new question marks in the minds of parents as well as the children (infants).
Pediatric dentists say that “When the first tooth grows, the care begins”. While trying to relax their children by telling them “Don’t be afraid, it won’t hurt.”, most parents, in fact, reflect their own fears on their clueless children and scare them involuntarily. We, as the pediatric dentists, care about this first experience greatly, because a life-long mouth care awareness must be instilled in children by creating love, not fear.
Besides helping their teething children on their own, parents should take their children to an expert pediatric dentist for general examination. During this examination, the dentist not only informs the family about mouth care and the progress but also examines the mouth and tooth structure of the child (infant).
Digital Anesthesia
In today’s technology, tooth needles are now replaced with digital needles. The difference between this new system called digital anesthesia or digital needle and the old one is that digital anesthesia causes almost no pain. Digital needles inject anesthetics to the patient according to the tissue pressure. Therefore, digital needles create less pressure and patients do not feel any pain.
Same anesthetics are used.
